What you will do:
The Inventory Control Clerk supports the operation of the maintenance department by ordering, receiving, and inventorying spare parts, tools, and other components, and maintaining inventory data in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), entering and tracking maintenance work order data in a CMMS.

What you will do:
The Inventory Control Clerk supports the operation of the maintenance department by ordering, receiving, and inventorying spare parts, tools, and other components, and maintaining inventory data in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), entering and tracking maintenance work order data in a CMMS.
Here’s a day in the life:
- Maintains plant inventory of spare parts, equipment and supplies using a CMMS. Navigates to appropriate programs and fully understands all applications and procedures. Focuses on details of records and identifies inventory control level issues based on usage and lead times. Uses appropriate codes and procedures. Continuously updates inventory as items are disbursed.
- Processes purchase requisitions to request existing or new stock items. Performs inventory checks to maintain adequate inventory levels per established min/max levels. Performs routine inventory audits. Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies for maintenance management use. Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records. Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
- Receives materials and enter part items into inventory control system, coordinate with operating departments to ensure critical items are stocked. Communicates with plant production departments to support inventory stores function. Prepares parts orders from work order assignments. Fills parts and supply orders, as needed.
- Maintains records in work order database, including making sure tables are correct, queries and reports are updated, and forms are filled in correctly. Enters and tracks work order activity. Generates and distributes preventive/predictive maintenance sheets and reports. Compiles, sorts, and verifies accuracy of data to be entered. Reviews error reports and enters corrections into computer.
- Strives to improve efficiency and communication in all areas of work. Keeps a daily record of work completed.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public.
- Communicate effectively.
- Utilize a computer with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
- Act as a team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company.
- Demonstrate excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
- High school diploma or GED. An associate degree with Tech certificate is a plus.
- Must have 2+ years of experience using office software and operating office equipment.
- Experience entering data into Computerized Inventory Management System is preferred.
