In this role you will run multi-discipline capital investment projects for the factory that enable the technical masterplan execution. This position is responsible for communicating project status through routine updates to all key partners, assigning factory resources and link all projects, timing and factory resources together to resolve feasibility and risk. Additionally you will be responsible for creating project scope, cost, timeline, startup success criteria, and handover documentation for end to end project completion.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
  • Develop project scopes to execute the Factory Masterplan
  • Develop total budget and justification for projects
  • Create contractors scope of work, mechanical, electrical, civil, equipment installation, etc.
  • Define project schedule for all phases starting from ideation through startup and hand over
  • Develop project success criteria with stakeholders and factory leadership
  • Develop safety and quality plans for project implementation
  • Perform project risk assessment and communicate to factory leadership
  • Resource constraints for execution of multiple opposing priorities
  • Assess risk to TDC for cost savings projects
  • Assess overall product risk due to multiple groups implementing projects (product/package impacts)
  • Coordinate and manage construction teams during execution and set high standards of quality and safety working within the factory constraints
  • Review overall timing of projects to ensure successful execution
  • Utilization of Early Management tools to ensure detailed execution of projects
  • Communicate project scope, business justification to factory leadership
  • Communicate factory constraints and potential obstacles to business team

Leadership/Direct Reports

  • Handles communication to factory leadership and engineering team and project stakeholders
  • Able to communicate project updates and new project scope to factory leadership and senior leaders
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to less experienced engineers
  • Ability to influence without authority and align factory and project goals
  • Demonstrate ability to solve problems both technically and with project execution

Requirements and minimum education level:

  • BS degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years engineering or project roles
  • Preferred project execution of $7MM+

Skills:

  • Strong demonstrated verbal / written communications, analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be detailed and results oriented.
  • Understanding of LEAN Concepts & Management.
  • ISO 9001 training or FSSC 22000 Food Safety and Quality Systems training and implementation experience is preferred.
  • Project leadership skills are strongly preferred.
  • PC proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote, etc. (preferred).
  • Experience with SAP software preferred.
