Description

Banyan Treatment Centers is recruiting a Lead Intake Coordinator to join the Operations team in Cathedral City, CA.

The Lead Intake Coordinator is responsible for managing and implementing systems, particularly inquiry/intake calls, patient screenings, admissions, and contacts with utilization reviewers and case managers. They work with the admissions and facility staff to ensure exceptional patient and community satisfaction and lead intake coordinators in a variety of tasks.

  • Location: On-site presence required in Cathedral City, CA.
  • Compensation: $22 - $25/hourly

Essential Functions

  • Monitors SalesForce on a consistent basis to check for pending admissions and converts leads to admits.
  • Creates potential admission files in KIPU and uploads VOB, Pre-Admission Screening, demographic information, insurance information, and marketer/referral information.
  • Assists in obtaining necessary consents, identifications, and financial documents needed to admit patients.
  • Updates the whiteboard to include travel information, projected bed, patient description, and phone number.
  • Assists with intakes and coordinates travel with BHT supervisors, as needed.
  • Participates in all staff meetings and is responsible for obtaining information if not in attendance.
  • Approaches patients, family members, significant others, and visitors with a respectful, caring manner to convey a sense of concern and warmth, delivering care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner, sensitive to patient and staff diversity.
  • Seeks corrective criticism and has the ability to evaluate suggestions objectively.
  • Attends in-services and educational training as necessary and as assigned, maintaining updated competencies required to perform patient assessments.
  • Seeks out learning experiences and incorporates new knowledge into practice.
  • Assists all Intake Coordinators with day-to-day scheduling, coordinating patient care for a streamlined process, and auditing duties to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Periodically assesses intake processes to identify areas of improvement with a focus on patient care, service delivery, and efficiency.
  • Coordinates daily with Directors and communicates with all intake team members to ensure departmental continuity regarding training, task assignment, and job responsibilities.

Preferences

  • Experience with KIPU EMR preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiar with community resources

Qualifications

  • Associate degree and/or meets experience requirements.
  • 1-2 years' work experience in the field of substance abuse and/or mental health, preferred.
