The ReStore Director oversees the operational management of all ReStore locations within Habitat for Humanity of Central Arkansas. The ReStore is a retail business that sells donated building materials, furniture, and appliances at discounted prices to generate revenue to support Habitat for Humanity of Central Arkansas in its mission to build homes, communities, and hope. The ReStore Director is responsible for the overall business development and performance of the ReStores.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence: Lead and supervise the daily operations of two ReStore locations, ensuring rigorous adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and safety standards. Drive operational efficiency and effectiveness through proactive management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Organizational Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to two ReStore Managers, fostering a collaborative and empowering work environment that encourages innovation and excellence. Champion the professional growth and development of store staff and volunteers, cultivating a high-performance culture.
  • Financial Stewardship: Develop and execute comprehensive budgets for both ReStore locations, ensuring robust financial sustainability and growth. Proactively monitor financial performance metrics and implement strategic initiatives to exceed revenue targets and maximize profitability.
  • Inventory and Merchandising Management: Collaborate closely with ReStore Managers to optimize inventory levels, implement dynamic pricing strategies, and curate compelling merchandising displays that drive sales and elevate customer satisfaction. Continuously innovate to adapt to market trends and customer preferences.
  • Community Engagement: Forge and nurture strategic relationships with donors, community partners, and customers to amplify the mission impact of Habitat for Humanity of Central Arkansas. Collaborate seamlessly with the Marketing team to elevate brand visibility, enhance community engagement, and foster lasting partnerships.
  • Compliance and Transparency: Ensure meticulous compliance with regulatory requirements, health and safety standards, and reporting obligations. Deliver timely and insightful reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors, providing clear insights into operational performance and strategic alignment.
  • Strategic Vision and Growth: Drive the development and execution of visionary strategic plans for the ReStore program, leveraging market insights and organizational goals to identify expansion opportunities and operational enhancements. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and adaptive leadership.
  • Cultivating Donor Relationships: Nurture and cultivate meaningful relationships with individual and corporate donors, leveraging innovative strategies to drive donation drives, secure sponsorships, and cultivate strategic partnerships that elevate ReStore operations and impact.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of proven experience in retail management, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of staff and volunteers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Financial acumen and experience in budget development and management.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Proven experience in logistics software and MS Office Suite.
  • Uphold and demonstrate the mission, values, and principles of Habitat for Humanity.
