Seeing how overhead fans cooled California dairy cows begged a massive question for our founder. “Can a fan be made to revolutionize comfort for people?” he uttered.

That’s when the HVLS Fan Company was born—with the first-ever patented high-volume, low-speed fan. But that name? BOR-ing. And customers knew it. We kept getting calls asking, “Are you the guys who make those big ass fans?” Hell yeah we are. And Big Ass Fans was born, complete with our own cheeky donkey mascot, Fanny. Opportunity

As a Lead Specialist, you will be the strategic engine behind our revenue growth—transforming data into opportunity. Your mission is to uncover high-potential leads and fuel the sales pipeline with actionable insights. By blending analytical precision with creative problem-solving, you’ll empower our sales teams to connect with the right prospects at the right time, making a measurable impact and accelerating business success.

What You'll Do

  • Research, screen, and qualify marketing leads for BAF’s products or services.
  • Use direct and indirect outreach resources to develop and nurture a pipeline of quality sales leads and opportunities.
  • Contact target leads and prospects to assess and understand customer needs, gather and verify information, and gauge sales opportunities.
  • Create opportunities for sales through communication of the BAF value proposition pertinent to the lead or prospect and requesting site visits for our outside sales teams.
  • Update and maintain CRM system to ensure information is organized, accurate, and accessible for future needs.
  • Document customer conversations, feedback, and other pertinent information to drive and support the sales process.
  • Complete a minimum of 100 outbound calls daily to our defined prospect list, in addition to lead follow-up cadence.
  • Drive an initial lead phone outreach within 1 hour of lead receipt with a goal of converting 50% of leads to qualified opportunities and maintaining an overall lead-based win rate of 30%.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or closely related field
  • Previous sales experience, a plus
  • Familiarity with CRM, Salesforce preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills to collaborate with sales, marketing and various commercial leaders

First 90 days

Days 1-30

Every Big Ass Fans employee is essential in working towards the company’s growth goals, and no goal is successful without a plan. When you kickstart your BAF journey with a strong 90-day plan, you’ll be set up for a great first day, week, month, quarter and beyond! Here’s a snapshot of the first 90 days as a BAF Lead Specialist:

  • Complete your onboarding activities, including an on-site 4-day FANdamentals training.
  • Dive into the details by familiarizing yourself with our lead call cadence.
  • Learn the ropes of our phone system and navigating call transfers.
  • Take the lead and begin handling leads and calling 50 leads per day.

Days 31-60

  • Capture new opportunities through outbound proactive calls.
  • Begin executing 90 outbound business generation calls daily.
  • Execute the full lead cadence for each lead.

Days 61-90+:

  • Complete 100 daily outbound business generation calls.

The Interview Process

  • Video Screen: Show us your cool skills! This will be a one-way video screen that goes through several questions for you to answer, leaving you a certain amount of time to respond. First time doing one of these? Be yourself! Some say it helps to settle your nerves by picturing the camera in its underwear.
  • Our First Chat: You’ll be speaking with a BAF Recruiter! Here, you’ll discuss the opportunity more in-depth, and talk through any questions you have, as well as cover any details that didn’t come out in the video screen.
  • In-Person Interview: You'll come onsite to our BAF Headquarters for an interview with our Lead Supervisor and Director of End User Marketing. Here, you'll learn in-depth details of the role, go over the day-to-day operations, and learn about the role's KPIs.
