SUMMARY

The Quality Control Director develops, implements, and periodically evaluates the Company's program to ensure the organizations production operations, from raw materials to finished products, meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the Company.

Strategic Leadership and Quality System Oversight:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality strategies and programs across multiple locations, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
  • Lead quality assurance teams, providing direction and support to ensure consistency and compliance with all quality standards.

Quality Systems Management:

  • Establish and maintain all required certifications and upholding all relevant standards (including ISO 9001)
  • Oversee the management and enhancement of all quality systems and processes, including quality control, quality assurance, and quality improvement.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust quality assurance processes and procedures. Work closely with engineering, operations, R&D, and procurement to develop incoming material specifications and requirements that optimize our manufacturing processes.
  • Lead MRB activities, provide guidance with customer MRB requirements and assist with in-process and supplier corrective actions.
  • Establish robust supplier quality program include assessments, qualifications, and ongoing monitoring of key suppliers.

Problem-solving and Critical Thinking:

  • Apply advanced problem-solving skills and critical thinking to identify root causes of issues and implement strategic solutions that result in systemic improvements.
  • Champion initiatives that enhance operational excellence and quality outputs.

Expertise in Lean Six Sigma and 8D Principles:

  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to streamline quality processes and reduce variability in product/process quality.
  • Lead on cross-functional teams to implement Operational Excellence Initiatives (Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, etc.) in manufacturing facility.
  • Implement and advocate for the 8D problem-solving approach to effectively address and eliminate quality issues, fostering a robust culture of continuous improvement.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Champion continuous improvement by driving initiatives to streamline processes, optimize resources, and enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness at all sites.
  • Implement best practices in quality management and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the quality assurance teams.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to identify trends, root causes of quality issues, and opportunities for preventive action.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration while performing duties. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some walking is required.   • REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering or related industrial, scientific, or business field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Eight to 10 years of related experience required with at least five years as a quality engineer or similar role highly preferred.

PAY RANGE

  • $150,000-$180,000/yr
