Director of Quality

Grizzly Industrial, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Quality to lead our quality assurance efforts. This leadership role is critical to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, functionality, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring strategic insight, technical expertise, and a collaborative spirit to drive continuous improvement across our national and global operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Strategic Oversight: Evaluate product quality at a strategic level to ensure compliance with safety, functionality, and performance standards.
- Program Leadership: Collaborate with executive and management teams to develop, implement, and continuously improve the company’s Quality Control Program.
- Standardization & Testing: Design and implement standardized product testing and evaluation protocols.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion initiatives to streamline operations and enhance product reliability.
- Risk & Compliance:
- Respond to product liability claims in coordination with the Executive Team, Director of Products, and QC Manager.
- Serve as the Recall Coordinator with the CPSC and CCPSC for voluntary or mandatory recalls.
- Factory & Supplier Engagement:
- Ensure partner factories comply with local laws and environmental regulations.
- Evaluate and onboard new factories based on environmental responsibility, organizational quality, and cooperation.
- Quality Assurance Operations:
- Oversee Asian QC inspection teams, Corporate QC, and Technical Documentation departments.
- Review inspection results and sample testing data to approve design changes.
- Maintain the company’s library of safety and electrical standards.
- Legal Support: Work with product liability attorneys to support litigation, including depositions, interrogatories, and document production.
- Team Leadership:
- Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
- Guide day-to-day activities of QC inspectors.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and R&D to support new product development and sourcing.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in quality control leadership.
- Hands-on experience with woodworking and metalworking machinery.
- International business travel experience, particularly in Asia.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results.
- Strong situational awareness and conflict resolution capabilities.
