This position will develop and manage National Carwash Solutions (NCS) Center of Excellence (COE) for Distribution Centers (DC) and Logistics operations across the US and Canada. This position is responsible for strategic vision, planning, KPIs and overall execution of warehousing to support our chemical and parts business. This position will also work closely with the Supply Management service parts team and drive logistics for optimized shipping methods and lanes. The goal of the NCS DCs are to optimize and drive world class On Time and Complete (OTC) shipments in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.

Job Duties

The essential functions of the VP of Distribution and Logistics (Corporate):

  • Lead the DC Center of Excellence for NCS.
  • Provide the vision and direction for NCS’s DC network and warehousing optimization and develop/execute a strategy to deliver world class results.
  • Per the developed strategy, stand up new DCs as necessary and re-define/optimize current DCs. This includes working with the regional teams and identifying and leading:
    • optimized site locations to ensure on-time delivery to our customers
    • lease agreements and lease administration
    • establishing all operational aspects of setting up/optimizing the DCs (racking, offices, safety equipment, fork trucks, etc.) working with the Supply Management team.
  • Evaluate current NCS technician warehouse’s and optimize (cost, delivery, efficiency)
  • Drive sustainable cost reductions throughout the entire DC/warehouse network and process.
  • Work with the service parts buying team and DC management to drive inventory accuracy and right sizing inventory within the distribution network.
  • Align with IT on enhancements and continuous improvements to the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Drive the optimization of the inbound and outbound DC logistics/transportation network along with all aspects of logistics across the NCS Enterprise
  • Work with the Safety Director to drive a world class safety culture.
  • Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.
Qualification Requirements And Skills Needed

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations Management or Supply Chain Management preferred. MBA a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing set up and ongoing operations of a multi –site DCs/warehouse network. Knowledge of chemical storage and movement a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years leadership experience, supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills – able to synthesize data into meaningful business direction and strategy. Demonstrated understanding and use of software and analytics to manipulate, analyze and interpret data.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations/guidelines.
  • Able to provide leadership across multiple DCs, 1PL delivery drivers and define/execute and hold accountable the DC/Regional Teams to defined KPIs and results.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and executing an optimized part flow.
  • Familiarity with supply system set-up and optimization a plus.
  • Familiarity with service part buying and distribution.
  • Familiarity with commercial lease agreements and writing/establishing supplier agreements a plus.
  • Strong competency with MS Office basic accounting practices. WMS and ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus) Should also be Hardware/software savvy.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to work effectively within an ERP system/process. Experience in launching and/or integrating an ERP system with an organization is a plus.
  • Understanding and experience with order to cash and procure to pay processes a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to influence without authority and strong teamwork skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to identify, manage and lead business improvement projects.
  • Ability to travel with overnight stays.
