Mon-Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM with the possibility of being extended out for OT Hours. Must be available to work Saturday/Sunday when needed.

Summary

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing the inbound receiving process, ensuring materials are accurately documented, inspected, and logged into company systems. This role involves coordinating dock assignments, verifying shipments, updating records, and communicating with internal teams and external carriers. The Receiving Clerk ensures compliance with company procedures and safety regulations to support smooth warehouse operations.

JOB FUNCTION/PURPOSE

  • Material Receiving & Documentation: Receive materials in the Amtech system, verify against the packing list, and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Inspection & Quality Control: Conduct incoming inspections, verifying pallet details, lot numbers, item counts, expiration dates, and overall material integrity. Report discrepancies and damages immediately.
  • Data Entry & Record Keeping: Update Nulogy, Bay View, and Dock Link with inbound shipment data. Scan and store receiving documents appropriately.
  • Trailer & Container Inspections: Inspect incoming trailers and containers for condition, seal accuracy, and potential damages. Capture photographs for documentation and compliance purposes.
  • Load Confirmation & Scheduling: Confirm scheduled loads in Opendock, generate receipt numbers, and ensure materials are properly logged before unloading begins.
  • Dock & Equipment Assignment: Assign dock doors for inbound shipments based on available space in Opendock and update records accordingly. Assign necessary equipment and resources, such as forklifts and IT devices, based on unloading needs.
  • Pallet Staging & Labeling: Verify pallet integrity and print and apply pallet tags for materials requiring special handling, such as allergens, quarantined items, or controlled products.
  • Receiving Reports & Forms: Complete S&R forms and maintain accurate inbound receiving documentation.
  • Communication & Coordination: Liaise with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal departments to address any receiving issues or special handling requirements.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety regulations and standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Nulogy, Amtech, Opendock, and Bay View systems preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to verify product details, documentation accuracy, and data entry consistency.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in receiving processes.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with vendors, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in contract packaging, food, apparel, or toy manufacturing receiving operations.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment.

  • Work environment includes front-office and manufacturing. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
