We are seeking an experienced IT Field Support Engineer to provide on-site and remote technical support to healthcare facilities and field staff, ensuring optimal functionality of hardware, software, and network systems critical to patient care and operational efficiency. If yes, as an IT Field Support Engineer you will:
- Provide technical support for end users in post-acute care settings (clinicians, administrative staff, etc.)
- Install, configure, and maintain PCs (laptops, Desktops, etc.), mobile devices, printers, and networking equipment at remote facilities and patient care centers.
- Support EHR systems, scheduling platforms, and healthcare-specific applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, connectivity, and peripheral equipment.
- Conduct site assessments to ensure network readiness and technology compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Maintain inventory and asset tracking for all deployed IT equipment.
- Assist in onboarding/offboarding of field staff and clinicians, ensuring access to all required systems.
- Serve as liaison between IT, clinical operations, and vendors to resolve issues quickly and minimize downtime.
- Document incidents, service requests, and solutions in a ticketing system.
- Travel to field locations regularly, with occasional overnight stays.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) preferred.
- 3+ years in a technical support or field service role
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, mobile device management (MDM), and basic networking concepts
- Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare data privacy requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and install/transport equipment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Experience in post-acute or healthcare IT environments (home health, hospice, long-term care)
- Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., Homecare Homebase, PointClickCare, MatrixCare)
- A+ or Network+ certification
