Mountain View Eye Center is a progressive, full-service ophthalmic medical and surgical practice located in the heart of Fairbanks, Alaska. Our mission is to deliver high-quality, compassionate care with a personal touch, serving the unique and diverse eye-care needs of Alaska’s interior communities.

We are currently seeking a Medical Optometrist to join our collaborative, patient-focused team. You’ll work side-by-side with ophthalmologists in a modern clinical environment, practicing to the full scope of your licensure. Requirements

What You’ll Do

  • Provide comprehensive optometric services to a diverse patient population.
  • Collaborate with our ophthalmologists to co-manage surgical and medical patients.
  • Evaluate and manage a wide range of ocular conditions including:
    • Post-operative care
    • Glaucoma
    • Anterior/posterior segment disease
    • Ocular trauma
    • Neuro-ophthalmic disorders
  • Conduct thorough medical histories and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on diagnosis, treatment options, and preventative care.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree.
  • Eligibility for Alaska State Optometry licensure.
  • 1–2+ years of medical optometry experience, or successful completion of an ACOE-accredited residency program.
  • Previous experience in a medically focused setting is strongly preferred.
  • A commitment to excellence in patient care and collaboration.
