Position: Building Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks, including preventive maintenance, general repairs, facility upkeep, and light construction. The role spans several trades, including basic construction, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and overall building maintenance. While prior experience is preferred, training and support will be provided. The technician also plays a key role in maintaining a clean and safe work environment, helping to ensure smooth and uninterrupted daily operations.

The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks, including preventive maintenance, general repairs, facility upkeep, and light construction. The technician also plays a key role in maintaining a clean and safe work environment, helping to ensure smooth and uninterrupted daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, surface cleaning, and trash removal.
- Keep work areas clean and organized; regularly empty metal chip bins.
- Handle general facility maintenance: furniture assembly, power/data installations, plumbing and lighting repairs, minor HVAC servicing.
- Perform painting, remodeling, and other refurbishment projects as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, including yard maintenance and window cleaning.
- Keep detailed records of all maintenance activities, contacts, repairs, and changes.
- Respond quickly to emergency issues involving alarms, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air systems, and more.
- Monitor and address safety hazards; maintain OSHA compliance across facilities.
- Manage proper disposal of waste materials, such as used oil, in accordance with regulations.
- Coordinate with the Purchasing department and external vendors for specialized maintenance and repairs.
- Provide daily updates to management regarding repairs, issues, and complaints.
- Other duties as assigned on a temporary or permanent basis.
- Experience using various hand and power tools for maintenance and repair work.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift and aerial lift.
- Basic reading and writing skills; able to communicate effectively with team members.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and performing tasks involving walking, kneeling, climbing, stooping, crouching, pushing, and pulling.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Willingness to be on call for after-hours maintenance issues.
- Minimum of two (2) years of verified experience in building maintenance, custodial work, or construction-related roles.
