VB Spine is seeking a strategic and driven Downstream Marketing Manager to lead product marketing initiatives that drive market growth, strengthen brand equity, and align with our customer-first approach. This individual will oversee a team responsible for market analysis, product positioning, and sales enablement, working cross-functionally with sales, clinical, and operations teams. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership with marketing expertise to influence competitive strategy and maximize commercial impact. This is a hybrid role and will require a regular, weekly presence at our HQ in Leesburg, VA


What You’ll Do:

Strategy & Planning

  • Guide teams through development and execution of the Annual Marketing Plan
  • Identify weaknesses in marketing plans and provide clear direction
  • Coach on budget planning, P&L understanding, and resource allocation


Sales Support & Enablement

  • Provide strategic direction and subject matter expertise to the sales force
  • Train and coach on sales communication and multi-channel strategy execution
  • Support sales training, forecasting, and operations processes


Marketing Execution

  • Align marketing and product line budgets with customer acquisition and retention goals
  • Develop and coach on product launch strategies including pricing, targeting, positioning, and value proposition
  • Develop messaging and communication strategies in line with brand direction


Segmentation, Targeting & Positioning

  • Champion strategic customer segmentation for brand efficiency
  • Mentor in developing value-driven targeting and positioning


Customer-Centric Development

  • Partner with key cross functional teams such as upstream marketing, sales training, and medical education to leverage customer feedback to evolve product and program offerings
  • Drive innovation in response to shifting market needs
  • Lead the development and execution of KOL strategy


Competitive & Customer Insights

  • Maintain a strong pulse on market insights by attending tradeshows, sales and customer trainings, customer events, spine surgeries, and labs
  • Coach teams on competitor strengths/weaknesses and integrate insights into strategy
  • Teach value proposition articulation and customer buying behavior


What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 8+ years of work experience, including 5+ years in medical device marketing and/or sales
  • 2+ years of people management experience preferred
  • Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams
  • High ethical standards and professionalism
  • Physically able to meet job demands (e.g., lifting up to 50 lbs, visual/auditory demands)

Compensation:

Pay for this role is competitive and based on experience, with additional factors like territory requirements, qualifications, and performance taken into account. Final compensation is determined on a case-by-case basis and considers a variety of factors, including experience level, skillset, and market conditions.
