Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and design schematics
- Calculate metal shapes and tolerances for precision fabrication
- Design jigs and templates to support part production
- Set up and operate drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines
- Cut, shape, and grind metal components to exact specifications
- Assemble/disassemble tooling and dies to support production and minimize downtime
- Inspect, repair, and test tools and dies for defects and functionality
- Contribute to tooling efficiency and scrap reduction initiatives
- Follow standard procedures for die maintenance and repairs
- Record maintenance and repair data in SAP
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Tool and Die Maker
- Preferred experience with progressive stamping (carbide lamination dies)
- Skilled in operating metalworking equipment (drills, mills, grinders, lathes)
- Strong troubleshooting skills in die operations and assembly
- Capable of lifting heavy materials and handling carbide tooling
- Familiar with quality control processes and precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Detail-oriented with advanced problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Able to work independently and collaborate with engineers and machinists
- Solid understanding of metallurgy and metal properties
- Proficient in complex math (geometry, trigonometry, algebra)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word)
