Brief Summary

The Financial Health Generalist is responsible for managing the collection activities of the credit union’s loan portfolio, ensuring timely repayment of member obligations while maintaining a member-centric approach. This role also provides cross-functional support within the lending and collections departments, contributing to the overall financial well-being of the membership and the soundness of the credit union.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the remarketing process for repossessed collateral, including valuation analysis, vendor coordination, title processing, and inventory tracking.
  • Contact members with delinquent loans to assess financial situations and establish repayment solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records, perform skip tracing, and recommend actions such as repossession or charge-off.
  • Monitor and resolve negative deposit accounts through member outreach and timely account closure; process related documentation and reporting.
  • Support claims processing (disability, GAP, warranty), assist with departmental communication, mail handling, and general inquiries.
  • Provide backup support across Financial Health Solutions, assist in training, and contribute to process improvements through effective use of technology.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; at least one year of experience in the financial industry preferred, with a focus on collections.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and database applications; able to quickly learn new systems.
  • Capable of analyzing information, drafting professional correspondence, and solving practical problems using critical thinking.
  • Must be adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to interpret written, verbal, and diagrammed instructions.
  • State-issued Driver’s License.

Schedule

Monday - Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Must be able to work one or more evenings, some Saturdays

Wage & Hour Details

  • Full-time
  • This is a non-exempt position
  • Starting pay range: $22.00-$25.00 per/hr, pay commensurate with experience
