Calspan is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our Finance team. In this role, you will support the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting by performing account reconciliations, accrual calculations, and account analysis, as well as preparing critical accounting schedules and documentation. This position plays a key role in daily and monthly financial operations, including reviewing and posting accounts payable and PO vouchers, maintaining treasury reports, reconciling inventory, and supporting audits and compliance.
The ideal candidate has strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to process improvements, collaborate across departments, and ensure financial reporting meets established policies and procedures.

- Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations, account analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules. Review and post Accounts Payable & PO Vouchers, maintain Daily Treasury reports & monthly reconciliation of physical inventory, as well as perform special projects to improve process efficiency and performance.
- Ensure financial records and master data are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures, specifically direct projects, indirect projects, organizations, general ledger accounts, vendors, and customers. Prepare complete and accurate entries to sub-ledgers as required on a daily, monthly, and annual basis, such as adjusting journal entries, recurring entries, cash receipts, and recording the cost of newly-acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets.
- Provide financial support for financial reporting and analysis. Assist with testing and receive final approval for system reports required for management, financial reporting, and general ledger reconciliations. Maintain process and procedure documentation for finance.
- Ensure accurate and timely sub-period, monthly, and year-end close as well as timely completion of assigned year-end audit engagement schedules.
- Bachelors in a related discipline
- 5+ years in related discipline or;
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to the above
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; advanced knowledge of Excel
- Understanding of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to succeed in a team environment
- Customer Service oriented
- Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, research, and analytical skills
- Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow-through skills
- Experience working in an ERP environment
