About The Role

The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the inbound operations of the warehouse, ensuring that all incoming shipments are received, inspected, and processed efficiently and accurately. This role involves managing a team of receiving associates, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth operations within a cold storage environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Team Leadership: Supervise the receiving team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. Ensure that the team adheres to company policies and operational guidelines.
  • Receiving Operations: Oversee the receipt of all incoming shipments, ensuring timely unloading, inspection, and accurate documentation of products in the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all inbound products are inspected for quantity, quality, and condition. Report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate departments.
  • Inventory Management: Coordinate with the inventory control team to maintain accurate records of incoming goods. Assist with cycle counts and stock reconciliations as necessary.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, shipping, inventory, and warehouse teams to ensure efficient communication and flow of goods into the warehouse.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in receiving processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Develop and enforce best practices for the receiving team.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all receiving activities are performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies, particularly in handling cold storage products. Maintain proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure the team follows safety protocols.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of received shipments, including documentation of discrepancies, damages, or delays. Generate reports on inbound operations performance and issues.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure that all receiving equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, are properly maintained and used safely. Report any equipment malfunctions or needs for repair.

What You Bring To The Pak

  • Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Education: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with a focus on receiving. At least 1-2 years of supervisory experience is required. Experience in cold storage or food logistics is preferred.
  • Certifications: Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
    • Knowledge of receiving processes, inventory control, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and warehouse software.
Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in cold storage environments with temperatures as low as -20°F.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
