HIM Clerk Full Time

Mesquite Specialty Hospital in Mesquite, Texas (in the Dallas–Fort Worth area) is a long-term acute care hospital providing advanced medical care for patients with serious, prolonged illnesses or complex injuries. We specialize in treating patients who need extended hospitalization and intensive services – such as ventilator/respiratory care, cardiac monitoring, IV medication management, and complex wound care – in order to recover sufficiently before transitioning to home or a lower level of care.

We are seeking a HIM Clerk to join our team of passionate patient caregivers!

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Medical record experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Qualifications/Skills

  • Demonstrates general computer skills including: data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work closely and professionally with others.

Responsibilities

Responsible for assembling and maintaining patients' health information in either EMR (Electronic Medical Record or charts. Ensures all forms are completed and properly identified and signed and all necessary information is in the chart or system. Integrates the hospital's mission and "Guiding Principles" into daily practice.
