We're Hiring: Behavioral Health Coordinator!

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Behavioral Health Coordinator to support our mental health services team. This position is responsible for providing support to providers on requests for behavioral health services by responding to live calls on a call queue, completing information entry into systems, resolving problems by working across departments, and supporting the behavioral health utilization management team.

What You'll Do

  • Provide customer service support to the Behavioral Health Queue Utilization Management department. Receive and respond to provider requests for services. Process information from providers to determine needs/wants and ensure caller requests have been addressed. Respond to callers or send to appropriate internal party.
  • Provide support to providers calling with requests for behavioral health services by answering and resolving live calls on a call queue.
  • Generate or compose appropriate correspondence and send to members manually or electronically.
  • Maintain production requirements based on established department business needs.
  • Provide support to the clinical team by performing the non-clinical functions necessary to generate and close a case within the platform.
  • Perform data entry functions to update customer or provider information.
  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, etc.
  • Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies, and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding developments within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.

Additional Job Requirements

  • 1 year of college and 2 years’ experience with automated systems OR 3 years’ experience with automated systems.
  • 1 year experience with managed care system(s).
  • Experience coordinating member needs, providing assistance to callers, and analyzing caller needs.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Database experience or PC applications experience.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills to assist members and coordinate care with physician offices, developing written correspondence to members and other department personnel, and supporting departmental personnel and functions.
