Description Of Job
The Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment work unit is responsible for the direct supervision and leadership of the principals of the on-campus programs that provide direct educational services to students and families within the School for the Deaf, School for the Blind, and the Bridges to Life Employability Center. The work unit also:

Minimum Qualifications
Experience Only:
Three (3) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position
OR
Education And Experience
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to three (3) years
Special Qualifications

Description Of Job
The Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment work unit is responsible for the direct supervision and leadership of the principals of the on-campus programs that provide direct educational services to students and families within the School for the Deaf, School for the Blind, and the Bridges to Life Employability Center. The work unit also:
- Provides leadership and support for students in the K to 12 and transition programs.
- Provides support for students in preschool in the areas of curriculum, instruction and assessment.
- Is responsible to ensure that the curriculum is aligned with Colorado State Standards
- Supports the purchase, training and implementation of the curriculum.
- Supports the administration of state and district assessments.
- Independently designs and implements general office and administrative operations as it relates to curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Establishes office record systems and resource libraries for the school programs
- Authorizing/signing operating expenditures (e.g., testing supplies)
- Estimating office operating expenses for assessment materials
- READ Act reporting in both American Sign Language and English
- Kindergarten Readiness reporting
- Accreditation reporting
- Preschool OSEP (Office of Special Education Programs)
- Body of Evidence submissions in both American Sign Language and English. Coordinates student data uploads for:
- Preliminary School Aptitude Test (PSAT)
- Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
- Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM)
- Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS)
- Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) Manages curriculum and instructional resources, including:
- Excel at Math (IXL)
- Multiple online curriculum platforms across all content areas and grade levels

Special Qualifications
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) at the Intermediate skill level is required, or the candidate must be willing to attain proficiency at the required level within a specified period of time (within one year from hire), as demonstrated by an appropriate assessment tool and according to school policy/procedure.
- A courteous, professional, and helpful attitude in the role of CSDB representative
- Ability to respond effectively and positively to feedback
- Ability to participate effectively in a team setting and work independently
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective organizational and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of and ability to assess and apply technology to perform the requirements of the position; ability to effectively utilize a variety of computer software applications, such as internet, word processing, email, electronic calendar, spreadsheets, and database applications
- Willingness to stay current and develop skills as needed, with or without direct support from CSDB
