The Lead Data Analyst plays a key role in ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and operational success of the data team. This individual serves as the primary technical resource and point of contact for Data Analysts, guiding daily operations, troubleshooting challenges, and driving continuous improvement. This role is critical in delivering high-quality data analysis and reporting, ensuring timely data delivery, and providing mentorship to team members.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform advanced laboratory data tasks consistent with a Data Analyst III, including high-quality analysis and reporting in line with established procedures.
- Support Managers and Supervisors in daily data operations, ensuring timely execution of workflows and optimal resource allocation.
- Coordinate daily workload and coverage plans for the data team, ensuring efficient task distribution and follow-through.
- Track workflow milestones and provide status updates to Data Group Management.
- Oversee priority data tasks such as rush orders, redo samples, tech transfers, and R&D samples to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Identify risks and delays impacting delivery timelines and escalate appropriately.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Data Analysts, offering technical guidance and ensuring smooth execution of data workflows.
- Resolve technical queries from Customer Service and internal stakeholders; coordinate issue resolution.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize data delivery, turnaround times, and quality.
- Support system enhancements and validate new procedures prior to deployment.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of SOPs, ensuring clarity and consistency across all data services operations.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify training needs and mentor junior analysts, supporting team growth and performance.
- Foster a team-oriented, collaborative, and feedback-driven culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry) or equivalent work experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in genomic data analysis and data management.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams, provide mentorship, and drive performance.
- Strong working knowledge of genotyping analysis, data structuring, and data pipelines.
- Experience with large dataset visualization and analysis.
- Ability to align data operations with business priorities and identify areas for efficiency improvements.
- Familiarity with ISO certification and regulatory requirements in biotech or life sciences environments.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with global teams and ensuring compliance across multiple locations.
- Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements and optimizing workflows.
