The Chief Security Officer (CSO) provides strategic leadership and oversight to manage enterprise-wide security operations, security solutions, emergency preparedness, policies, procedures, and best practices within the health system. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, staff, and resources.

This role is crucial for ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, staff, and resources.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Security Strategy: Create and maintain an overall security strategy, including physical and operational policies and protocols.
- Risk Management: Evaluate and assess risks related to the health system's core operations and develop mitigation strategies.
- Threat Identification and Response: Oversee threat identification, assessment, and response, ensuring timely reporting and resolution of security incidents.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Incident Investigation: Lead thorough investigations of security incidents, including workplace violence, theft, and other incidents.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement comprehensive emergency preparedness plans, including disaster recovery, crisis management, and business continuity strategies.
- Training and Drills: Conduct regular training sessions and emergency drills to ensure staff readiness and compliance with emergency protocols.
- Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders to align security projects with corporate requirements and support change management initiatives.
- Relationship Management: Maintain relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement and first responder agencies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are preferred.
- Experience: Extensive experience in security and emergency management, preferably within a healthcare environment.
- Skills: Strong leadership, strategic planning, risk assessment, emergency management and communication skills. Technical expertise in security systems and protocols.
