Job Purpose

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and people-focused HR Generalist to support the day-to-day operations of our Human Resources department. In this role, you’ll help manage a wide range of HR functions—from recruitment and onboarding to benefits, compliance, and employee engagement. You’ll work closely with the entire Human Resources department and play a key role in supporting our employees and company culture.

What You’ll Do:

General HR Support

  • Provide administrative support for the HR department and assist with daily tasks and projects.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal teams.
  • Support company-wide HR initiatives and special projects.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage the full recruitment process: post job openings, screen candidates, schedule and conduct initial interviews.
  • Oversee the new hire process and conduct new hire orientations.
  • Ensure job descriptions and interview guides are accurate and up to date.

Employee Lifecycle & HRIS

  • Manage employee changes in the HRIS (new hires, job changes, transfers, manager changes, terminations, etc.).
  • Maintain data integrity and support system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Provide primary support for timecard maintenance.
  • Respond to and participate in unemployment claims.

Compliance & Recordkeeping

  • Stay up to date on legal requirements and ensure HR policies and reporting are compliant.
  • Maintain I-9 documentation.
  • Manage employee files and ensure proper documentation and retention.
  • Track FMLA and ensure compliance with leave policies.
  • Handle ACA compliance and related reporting.

Benefits Administration

  • Assist with administering benefits programs (health, dental, life, disability, vacation, leave of absence, EAP).
  • Reconcile benefit vendor invoices.
  • Support employees with benefits-related questions and issues.

Performance & Training

  • Assist with the performance review process to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Help plan and coordinate employee and management training programs.
  • Follow up with employees and managers to gather feedback on training.

Employee Engagement

  • Help coordinate HR-led employee events and training sessions.
  • Promote continuous learning and development for yourself and the team.
  • Support a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Other Responsibilities

  • Compile data, perform analysis, and generate reports as needed.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned.
  • Manage OSHA reporting and workers’ compensation claims.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of HR generalist experience, including data analysis and reporting
  • Solid knowledge of federal and state employment laws
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Lifting, raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling)
  • Carrying, pushing or pulling office items up to 10 lbs.
  • Prolonged use of computer involved; use of hands and finger coordination; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision. Color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
