Position Overview
The 30+ year company supports the petrochemical and manufacturing industry domestically and internationally and is positioned along the Gulf Coast providing training, occupational medicine, and innovative solutions to industry. The eLearning Manager is responsible for increasing departmental efficiencies to reduce costs and increase revenue through daily business practices.
Essential Job Responsibilities

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle training equipment and tools, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The eLearning Manager is responsible for increasing departmental efficiencies to reduce costs and increase revenue through daily business practices.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Direct the creation of high-profile eLearning solutions through effective collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders using HASC-owned software, branded templates, and member guidelines; provide LMS implementation strategies and customized training deliverables for corporate clients and strategic partners.
- Manage end-to-end course development by scripting content, coding assessments, integrating multimedia assets, and ensuring timely delivery across HASC’s LMS and other designated platforms, with a focus on scalability and client-specific needs.
- Represent HASC’s eLearning department on internal and external committees; collaborate with the executive team to align training initiatives with organizational goals and contribute to strategic planning and innovation.
- Lead a team of up to five direct reports—each with their own subordinates—by conducting course audits, setting priorities, coaching for performance, and ensuring consistent, high-quality output aligned with departmental and organizational standards.
- Design and execute studies to understand learner demographics, job roles, and training gaps; apply findings to refine course content and delivery methods to better reflect the needs of HASC’s diverse workforce population.
- Proficient in applying appropriate project management frameworks to ensure adaptability and control throughout the project lifecycle
- Administer the department’s intake workflow, assigning projects based on data from internal tracking systems to optimize resource allocation and project flow.
- Manage administrative tasks related to course integration and documentation updates within HASC’s LMS, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Drive departmental operations by developing process documentation, leading team initiatives, facilitating training and strategic process enhancement sessions, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Partner with the eLearning Director to identify opportunities for innovation, enhance deliverables, and expand departmental capabilities.
- Participate in quarterly on-call rotations, including weekend availability, to field phone calls and ensure effective operational flow for HASC’s Live Online Proctoring team.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance documentation practices, and implement new technologies that improve efficiency and learner outcomes across the department.
- Partner with other departments to resolve technical issues, support customer service requests, and contribute to broader organizational initiatives related to training and workforce development.
- Participate in offsite professional development to strengthen departmental workflows and stay current with industry best practices.

- Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Communications, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in eLearning development, instructional design, or training coordination
- Experience in industrial safety, safety training, or industrial operations preferred
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including finance, customer service, and external vendors
- Experience conducting audience research and applying findings to optimize training content for diverse workforce populations
- Experience managing live online training operations, including on-call support and real-time troubleshooting
- Commitment to continuous learning through professional development and industry engagement
- Ability to develop and maintain accurate documentation and contribute to scalable operational systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-tiered teams, conduct performance coaching, and manage complex workflows across multiple projects
- Advanced proficiency in courseware development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and SCORM-compliant platforms
- Excellent project management skills, including intake coordination, resource allocation, and deadline-driven execution
- Strong analytical skills for identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing technology-driven solutions
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional engagement and stakeholder alignment
- Ability to work onsite and travel occasionally for professional development or project needs
