What you will do:

As a CNC programmer, you will be responsible for the following listed below:

  • Produce machined parts using a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathe machine.
  • Interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials lists, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters.
  • Check machine on an ongoing basis to ensure accuracy of settings.
  • Work includes assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment.
  • Work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions.
  • Check and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances.
  • May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.

What you need:

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning.
  • Ability to lift/carry 10-50 lbs. on a frequent basis depending on product line, may rarely lift/carry 50-75 lbs.
  • Job demands include prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, sitting, standing and/or crawling as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 - 2 years of CAD/CAM experience with SURFCAM or similar software.
  • 2 - 3 years experience with operation of CNC lathes and/or mills.
  • 2 - 3 years experience with work holding and fixtures for CNC lathes and/or mills.

Pay rate will not be below any applicable local minimum wage rates.
