**Major Duties**

  • Serves as a senior member or coordinator of a project/program support team.
  • Responsible for business systems requirements assessment, evaluation, analysis, elicitation, interpretation, planning, design, development, documentation testing, validation, implementation, and maintenance of an assigned area/subsystem.
  • Suggests business and system-wide process improvements that can fulfill the customer's business system requirements.
  • Negotiates with customers on requirements that are not feasible or cost-effective and recommends alternate approaches.
  • Assists in the evaluation, selection and integration of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and/or Government-off-the- shelf (GOTS) solutions.
  • Works with key project stakeholders and business people to formulate and communicate the business requirements for the project.
  • Elicits and interprets requirements from customers and other DoD departments, military services, and Government agencies as needed.

**Qualification Summary**

To qualify for a IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS), your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Testing and validating that all software modifications meet system specifications and that they fulfill the approved business system requirements Conducts and assists in all test phases to include, assembly, component, system, regression, and user acceptance testing Develops and organizes detailed implementation timeline and cutover activities, and coordinates with all affected stakeholders Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
