Morgan Murphy Media is seeking a full-time Broadcast Inventory Specialist to join our Broadcast Traffic department in La Crosse/Madison, WI. This role is crucial in maximizing revenue for our television stations through strategic spot placement.

The ideal candidate will work closely with sales, marketing/promotions, and programming departments to deliver an on-air product that achieves positive outcomes for both our stations and clients. We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, capable of working independently to meet tight deadlines.

This position offers flexible work arrangements and can be performed in-office, remotely, or in a hybrid model. The specific arrangement will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location.

What You’ll Do

  • Schedule commercial advertisements and promotional announcements according to broadcast schedules for WKBT-TV (CBS) and EISC-TV (MyNetwork) to ensure all spots are accurately slotted to maximize revenue.
  • Communicate with sales, programming, and production teams to manage and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Coordinate with Sales/Traffic team members on the movement or preemption of spots for missing material.
  • Prepare traffic logs, reports, and documentation related to commercial broadcasts.
  • Enter and maintain orders for some house accounts.
  • Serve as a backup to other Traffic department team members:
    • Serve as primary back-up for scheduling commercials on WISC-TV (CBS) and EKBT-TV (MyNetwork).
    • Serve as primary back-up for continuity for our CBS and MyNetwork stations in Madison and La Crosse.
      • Receive and maintain traffic instructions from station clients, assign unique numbers to individual commercials.
      • Create dub lists.
      • Assist with downloading commercial spots in coordination with the Master Control Department.
  • Serve as secondary back-up for format / program changes.
    • Input program formats with program numbers, break structures, and log timings based on program schedules / program orders.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    What You’ll Bring

    • WideOrbit Traffic or related Traffic software knowledge is a plus.
    • Solid data-entry and organizational skills.
    • Continuously optimizing traffic workflow and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
    • Knowledge of commercial instruction terminology preferred.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
