What To Expect
The Tooling & Industrial Engineering team is responsible for the development and proliferation of custom service and commissioning tooling hardware to assist in the rapid development and maintenance of Tesla Energy’s storage and charging solutions. This skilled and motivated individual will keep pushing this evolving energy industry forward by owning Systems integration of multifunctional tools, Design test plan plus execution, and technical architecture design. The ideal candidate has a good mix of electrical and firmware engineering skills with passion for working in a fast-growing renewable energy company.
What You'll Do
Start-to-finish tool-hardware-system ownership: Specification, architecture, design, simulation, validation, and integration with hardware Own and support existing software and hardware tools by scaling them for mass usage Own next generation feature and product development of current tooling, product and equipment Prioritize safety around high voltage and complex electronic equipment Drive data analytics and metrics to drive to improve use case studies with custom equipment Work with dozens of different engineering teams to align on technical problem solving for short term and long-term solutions Travel to commissioning sites, containment sites, and Giga factories 10-15% of the time
What You'll Bring
4 or more years of design and prototyping experience 4 or more years around high voltage (100V and above) 4 or more years of product/tool release, change control experience 4 or more years of designing mechatronic related solutions 2 or more years of proven experience integrating with manufacturing or field service Proven ability to communicate and manage to stakeholders on design options and turbulations Ability to create impactful software design documentation for all stakeholder’s usage

$92,000 - $186,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
