Summary
The Coordinator, Safety & Emergency Preparedness is responsible for overseeing the Safety, Hazardous Materials and Waste, and Fire Safety programs, while supporting Life Safety, Medical Equipment, Security, and Utilities Management. This role ensures a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff by proactively minimizing safety and hazard risks. The coordinator manages disaster response and crisis management activities, collaborating with regional facilities and external healthcare institutions to plan and evaluate emergency preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. They work across healthcare disciplines to develop and test medical responses to various hazards. The position requires availability for 24-hour on-call emergency duties, which may involve irregular hours and work at different locations beyond the official duty station. Additionally, the Coordinator contributes to environmental safety improvements and supports performance improvement initiatives across assigned committees.
