A leading enterprise organization based in Bolingbrook, Illinois is seeking a QA Engineer—either fully manual or with automation experience—to join a mission-critical team focused on delivering high-quality, scalable software applications. This role is ideal for quality engineers with a strong understanding of software testing fundamentals, SQL, and bug tracking, with bonus points for automation experience in C#.

The QA Engineer will support both manual and automated testing efforts, working closely with development teams to ensure product quality from front-end to back-end. Candidates with automation skills will contribute to test script development in C#, while manual testers will play a key role in validating application functionality, logging defects in Jira, and ensuring a seamless end-user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute test cases for web and/or desktop applications
  • Perform both manual and automated testing (C# preferred for automation)
  • Conduct front-end, back-end, and database testing using SQL
  • Log and track defects using Jira
  • Collaborate closely with developers and stakeholders to clarify requirements and test coverage
  • Participate in regression, functional, and integration testing cycles
  • Identify and document bugs and inconsistencies
  • Analyze test results and contribute to continuous quality improvement

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–5+ years of experience in QA or Software Testing
  • Hands-on experience with manual testing; automation experience is a strong plus
  • Proficiency in SQL for database validation
  • Familiarity with Jira or other bug tracking tools
  • Automation scripting in C# (if applicable)
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for quality

Nice to Have

  • Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, NUnit, xUnit)
  • Exposure to CI/CD environments
  • Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman)
  • Experience in Agile or Scrum environments
