Description
Total Rehab LLC is searching for an organized, reliable certified Medical Assistant (MA) for its interventional pain management medical practice in Utica, New York. This is a full-time, non-exempt, position. The MA will be cross trained to cover various administrative and clinical tasks within a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, professional and capable of managing their workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, position. The MA will be cross trained to cover various administrative and clinical tasks within a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, professional and capable of managing their workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with obtaining applicable authorizations
- Assemble patient charts, requisitions and consent forms
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Assist with the collection and preparation of laboratory specimens, including completion of appropriate paperwork, as permitted by NYS law
- Assist practitioners during routine office visits, outpatient procedures and other physical exams
- Prep exam rooms for clinical procedures and assisting practitioners with patient care
- Monitor and document patient symptoms for practitioners’ review during clinical exams and procedures
- Provide compassionate patient support and care, attention and assistance during office visits
- Other duties as assigned

- Ability to deal effectively and professionally with co-workers, physicians, and patients
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
- Ability to handle stressful and unpredictable situations
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously
- Proficient computer skills, with knowledge of electronic medical record systems
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred
- Medical office experience and terminology preferred
- Prior experience as a procedure technician preferred
