A medical interpreter is a professional who provides interpretation and translation services for patients who speak limited English and healthcare staff. They are responsible for interpreting medical information accurately and confidentially, ensuring that patients understand their medical diagnosis, treatment options, and other important information. They also provide translations of medical documents, such as records and prescriptions.

Experience Required
- 3-5 years' experience preferred
- High School / GED required
- Certification/Licensure Interpreter/Translator Certificate and/or Certificate of Competency from an approved Interpreter/Translator training program preferred
- Open to obtaining certification as employee of CUHC.
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Ability to work out of normal hours if needed when Voyce cannot be used by the patient preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation required.
- Foreign language(s) written translation skills required.
- Listening skills required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information required.
- Basic computer skills required.
