Our Engineering, Automation and Technology Support Team is looking for a summer intern to work alongside senior engineers in a variety of possible ways
Main Responsibilities
- Component Design
- Develop mechanical part designs through reverse engineering utilizing 3D scanning technology and CAD design software
- Evaluate local machine shop capabilities and identify appropriate resources to produce replacement parts on demand.
- Work with senior engineers to create a component library
- Generate component production drawings
- Provide general assistance to senior Engineers
- Gain exposure to manufacturing and operations through new product development and assist with manufacturing-engineering troubleshooting efforts
- Takes direction from senior Engineers in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives
- Interface with members of the Engineering Group and other manufacturing support groups daily
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled and pursuing bachelor's degree in engineering or technical related field at an accredited college or university with the expectation that you will complete your current degree by the Spring of 2028
- Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship
- Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship
- Basic experience with 3D modeling/drafting software (Solidworks preferred)
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principals
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to perform work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) for documentation of test results
- Technical curiosity
- Ability to interact with manufacturing personnel and staff
- Sound problem solving and decision-making skills
