$2,819.50 WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE DATE & $2,819.50 12 MONTHS AFTER HIRE DATE.
Provide daily, hands-on field leadership for a team of HVAC and maintenance mechanics, including coaching, assisting, and ensuring that field staff have the knowledge, skills, abilities, parts, tools, equipment, and other resources necessary to perform their jobs safely and efficiently. Assist the supervisor as needed and serve as a backup when the supervisor is out. Work includes preventive/predictive maintenance, reactive maintenance, projects, and construction support. Serves as a mentor while assisting less experienced staff, embraces new technology and change, and seeks innovative ways to improve efficiency while meeting energy, environment, safety, and end user needs. Contributes to the UNC safety culture and always considers safety first.
Proper operation and maintenance of building HVAC and refrigeration systems, including complex refrigeration equipment supporting an extensive biotechnology/life sciences research and health care campus. Systems supported include DX units, variable refrigerant flow systems, gas heaters, environmental chambers, walk-in coolers and freezers, air dryers, ice machines, packaged units, CRAC units, dehumidification systems, refrigerated scientific equipment, ultra-low and cryogenic equipment, small chillers, and specialized equipment.
