The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Director of Business Development to spearhead growth initiatives and expand our shipper client portfolio. This leader will play a pivotal role in establishing and growing a substantial book of business, while driving strategic partnerships and ensuring financial performance across our logistics services.
The Director of Business Development will report directly to senior leadership and must bring a strong entrepreneurial spirit, outstanding communication skills, and a proven track record of driving sales results in a competitive environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with shippers, carriers, and strategic partners.
- Ensure seamless communication between carriers, customers, and internal teams.
- Lead tracking, reporting, and performance analysis to ensure goals are met or exceeded.
- Drive adoption of safety policies, industry regulations, and compliance standards.
- Partner with leadership to set department goals, report outcomes, and adjust strategies for growth.
- Consistently deliver exceptional customer experiences while exceeding performance targets.
- Strategic Sales Leadership: Strong ability to prospect, pitch, and close business while guiding others in the process.
- Communication: Clear, persuasive, and effective in both written and verbal settings, with the ability to manage complex negotiations.
- Analytical Thinking: Skilled at identifying challenges, researching solutions, and leveraging data to inform decisions.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of U.S. geography, freight timelines, and the logistics landscape.
- Technology Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Teams, Outlook) and comfortable with web-based logistics software.
- Adaptability: Thrives in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and competitive demands.
- Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or related business development leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in building and managing client portfolios.
- Entrepreneurial drive with strong accountability for results.
- A self-starter mentality who embraces challenges and creates solutions.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
- Availability to work Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
