As part of the Electron Microscopy team within the Materials and Structural Analysis Division, (MSD), the SeniorR&D Software Engineer will write software that works closely with the microscope hardware to improve the performance, reliability, and functionality of these captivating machines that allow our users to enter into the nano world and have a look around! You will join a team of twelve other innovative, R&D software engineers whose work is the driving force behind controlling the microscope.

What You Will Do

Research and develop innovative microscope alignment algorithms using image processing techniques

Implement algorithms using C# and C++ software

Perform design of experiments on hardware to validate alignments

Work with system engineering to ensure your solutions meet their requirements

Collaborate regularly with our global network of colleagues

Build strong team foundations and add to our collective shared insights and experience

Education/Experience

What you have:

Bachelor's degree or higher; Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or Physics background preferred

4+ years of software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in C++ and C# technologies The ability to adapt to a hybrid flexible work schedule (part time in the office, part time work remotely) The willingness to travel up to 1 - 2 weeks on an annual basis to our domestic and international sites
