Job Title: Estimator
Job Summary
The Estimator is responsible for researching, coordinating, and tracking quotes and bids for products, rentals, sales, and services. This role involves working closely with the estimating team, purchasing department, and other internal partners to deliver accurate bids, develop sales strategies, and maintain compliance with standard specifications and special provisions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Research, download, and analyze bidding opportunities through online platforms and preconstruction meetings.
- Lead the estimating process, including preparing and submitting competitive quotes, gathering material documentation and certifications, and tracking quote performance.
- Partner with purchasing teams and vendors to obtain competitive pricing and negotiate favorable terms.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop strategic and creative bidding and sales approaches.
- Support branch offices with estimating, product details, and bid preparation as needed.
- Assist with various sales support functions and perform additional tasks as assigned to contribute to overall business success.
Credentials & Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints; skilled in performing quantity take-offs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Customer-centric mindset with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships and respond proactively to client needs.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- High energy, positive attitude, and team-first approach to collaboration.
- Proficient in estimating software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with Sage is a plus.
