Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Head of Global Ventures to join our MedTech Surgery (Aesthetics & Reconstruction) business located at our Irvine, CA site. This role can also have a remote setup based anywhere in the United States.

Position Summary

The Head of Global Ventures oversees setting the strategy and act as business liaison for Aesthetic and Reconstruction interests, development and evaluation of opportunities/business cases and support execution in partnership with Business Development, Research and Development, GSM, Regulatory and Clinical teams. The role would also oversee KOL & Societies Engagement and provide input to real world evidence direction. Would advise on programs and innovative initiatives for the organization to advance strategic partnerships and new capabilities. Serves as a distinguished expert and organizational leader with vision, leading sophisticated projects of strategic importance involving cross-functional internal and external teams. Applies advanced knowledge of trends and the competitive landscape to continually improve the organization's strategic partnerships strategy. Advances other colleagues through consultation, mentoring, and collaborative leadership to build depth of capability, and provides functional supervision. Proactively creates a purpose driven environment by aligning Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives with the strategies and goals of the team and enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors external trends, environment, needs and white space areas of growth, resulting in setting strategic direction of new ventures focus
  • External engagement with KOL’s, Societies and Mentor representation at Innovation Forums
  • New business initiatives assessment and business case preparation, includes internal collaboration and leadership
  • Provides strategic direction to team
  • Responsible for managing operational aspects (e.g., budget, performance, and compliance), workforce and succession plans to meet business needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, advanced degree is preferred (MBA or PhD)
  • Minimum of 12 years related experience, required
  • Critical thinking, analytical ability, business sense, and experience in evaluating technologies and their financial potential
  • Ability to operate at the intersection of science and business, transcending between collaborators and translating clinical ideas to profitable growth opportunities
  • Experience in driving successful partnership/distribution agreements including insights in due diligence and compliance requirements for partnership
  • Deep understanding and experience of requirements (external and Internal) needed to launch a med device Class III or II product.
  • Communicates professionally and with excellence and proven track record of successful KOL engagement and partnership development
  • Leads meaningful engagements with clinical and academic stakeholders, societies. Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability of leading teams with influence and creating followership
  • Working knowledge of aesthetics and plastic reconstruction specialties in addition to End 2 End business requirements including regulatory, clinical and other specifics related to Medical Device product and market development
  • Understanding of technical requirements to develop and launch a plastic surgery related product is highly preferred.
  • Fluency in any global language is an advantage

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$146,000 - $251,850

Additional Description For Pay Transparency

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
