Job Roles, Responsibilities and Duties:

- Primary On-Site Contact: Serve as the primary point of contact for on-site project activities, ensuring all construction operations are performed safely and efficiently.
- Site Operations Oversight: Oversee the day-to-day operations on the construction site, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Client Liaison: Regularly liaise with clients, including the Department of Veteran Affairs, National Cemetery Administration, Army Corps of Engineers, and NAVFAC, to ensure project requirements are met and customer satisfaction is achieved.
- Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with all established company policies and procedures, maintaining the security and confidentiality of documents and data.
- Work Coordination: Plan and coordinate the sequence of work with PM, subcontractors, clients, and government entities.
- Resource Planning: Plan and procure materials, equipment, and resources with the General Superintendent for weekly activities and six-week projection plans.
- As-Built Drawings: Maintain accurate and up-to-date "As Built" project drawings.
- Schedule Updates: Meet with PM and project scheduler weekly to update the master project schedule.
- Lean Construction: Familiar with Pull Planning and Lean Construction principles. Update the field six-week look-ahead "lean board" weekly and generate a three-week look-ahead using Procore.
- Meeting Participation: Attend and participate in recurring weekly meetings.
- Site Maintenance: Ensure the site is clean and organized at all times.
- Design Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to address design changes, unforeseen site conditions, technical issues, and constructability challenges.
- Project Execution: Collaborate with team members to oversee the successful execution of projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and federal regulations.
- Inspection Coordination: Coordinate and support team members during regular inspections to assess project progress, identify potential challenges, and implement effective solutions to maintain project momentum.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the construction team, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Project Communication: Utilize Procore or RMS for all project communication, including daily reports, to communicate real-time job site status, schedule personnel and equipment, and track project progress.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor project progression, providing updates and performance feedback to the Project Manager.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate project expectations, status, and potential changes in scope to all relevant stakeholders.
- Emergency Response: Respond to project-related emergencies and issues promptly and with urgency.
- Support and Development: Assist the Project Manager and General Superintendent in developing and implementing action plans to improve project performance and address any issues.
- Additional Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned to support the successful completion of construction project.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent in federal contracting, with specific experience on USACE and VA projects.
- Working knowledge and certification in USACE EM-385-1.
- Demonstrated expertise in tenant improvements, showcasing successful project delivery in these areas.
- In-depth understanding of USACE and VA processes, specifications, and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Procore, and RMS, with the ability to effectively utilize these tools for project management and documentation.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Leadership abilities, inspiring and motivating the construction team to achieve project goals.
- Familiarity with the three phases of control (preparatory, initial, and follow-up).
- Commitment to providing continuous support to all team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of federal safety standards and regulations, with a focus on maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification or equivalent – Required!
- EM-385-1 Certificate
- QCM (Certificate – Plus)
- Familiar with RMS (Plus)
- Familiar with Lean Construction (Plus)
