This role / individual must reside in Mexico.
Verdesian Life Sciences has an exciting pipeline of new technologies that need to be commercially developed in Mexico. The Business Development Manager (Agronomist) – Mexico will be responsible for managing product development and sales related activities in the Mexican agricultural market. This individual will be required to travel up to 70% of the time. The incumbent will be responsible for the responsibilities noted below and will report directly to the Managing Director – LATAM.
Essential Responsibilities
Verdesian Life Sciences has an exciting pipeline of new technologies that need to be commercially developed in Mexico. The Business Development Manager (Agronomist) – Mexico will be responsible for managing product development and sales related activities in the Mexican agricultural market. This individual will be required to travel up to 70% of the time. The incumbent will be responsible for the responsibilities noted below and will report directly to the Managing Director – LATAM.
Essential Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain relationships with customers, industry influencers and key strategic partners.
- Manage market channel development activities and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
- Manage sales forecasting activities and performance goals accordingly.
- Prepare periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Identify market opportunities for actual products and potential products development.
- Monitor competitor’s products, sales and marketing activities.
- Plan and implement sales, marketing and product development programs, both short and long term, targeted toward existing and new markets.
- Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
- Facilitate field development trials within territory with existing and new customers.
- Facilitate product registration processes within territory.
- Develop and implement strategic marketing plans to achieve corporate objectives for products.
- Execute marketing operating budgets.
- Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
- Execute marketing events and promotional activities.
- Assist other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
- Other duties not listed above as assigned.
- Minimum education of BA or BS degree in Agriculture related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an agronomist
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working with specialty fertilizers and biologicals
- Proven ability to identify customer needs and perceptions and has strong relationships with the Latin America distribution channel
