Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechatronics or Aerospace Technician to join our electric propulsion system production line. The technician will be responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting advanced electric propulsion components and subsystems, ensuring that products meet stringent aerospace and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and control systems, as well as experience in high-reliability manufacturing environments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and control systems, as well as experience in high-reliability manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly & Integration
- Assemble and integrate mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic components for electric propulsion systems (thrusters, power units, fluid systems).
- Perform precision alignment and mounting of propulsion components using specialized tools and fixtures.
- Install sensors, actuators, harnesses, and control units.
- Testing & Calibration
- Conduct functional, electrical, and mechanical tests on propulsion subsystems, including leak checks, vibration tests, and thermal cycling.
- Perform sensor calibration, actuator tuning, and electrical continuity tests.
- Record and analyze test data to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve assembly, wiring, and control system issues.
- Execute preventive maintenance and repairs on assembly equipment and test rigs.
- Process & Documentation
- Follow work instructions, technical drawings, and schematics with high accuracy.
- Document assembly steps, test results, and any deviations or non-conformities.
- Support continuous process improvements and participate in root-cause analysis for failures.
- Collaboration & Compliance
- Work closely with engineers, quality teams, and production supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to aerospace manufacturing standards, ESD controls, and cleanroom protocols when required.
- Comply with all safety regulations and environmental requirements.
- Education:
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Mechatronics, Aerospace Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree is a plus).
- Relevant certifications (IPC, NASA-STD, or similar) preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading mechanical and electrical schematics, 3D CAD drawings, and assembly instructions.
- Experience with electrical wiring, harnessing, and PCB assembly.
- Familiarity with sensors, actuators, and control systems.
- Knowledge of vacuum systems, propulsion technology, or high-voltage components is a strong plus.
- Other Competencies:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom or controlled environment when required.
- Comfortable with standing, lifting components (up to 25 lbs), and working with precision tools.
- Availability for flexible shifts, including potential overtime.
