To support the EHS Department with any/ all environmental permit(s) and certification(s) needs. To ensure the health and safety for all company employees and contractors. To support the implementation and management of new and/or current processes/ procedures. To ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • Analyzes work environments and designs programs to control, eliminate and prevent disease and injury by conducting safety inspections and hazard assessments.
  • Support safety policies, training programs and materials, tracks training requirements and certifications.
  • Maintains all safety records including training, accident and near-miss investigations, OSHA logs, permits, checklists, safety audits and walk-through reports and other documentation and acts as liaison with government agencies.
  • Support the distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Conducts periodic fire and emergency evacuation drills.
  • Conducts new-hire employee safety orientation.
  • Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Additional Duties, as assigned.

Requirements: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:

  • 1-2+ years general Safety experience in a manufacturing environment AND Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene or similar
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Strong Analytical and Organizational skills.
  • Must be able to read, understand and interpret federal, state and local regulations, Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS) and other complex documents.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, similar discipline OR 2-3+ years of general Safety experience in a manufacturing environment
