Position Overview:
The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the general ledger (GL) and financial statement close process, as well as driving accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting and analysis for Extenet. The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, proven leadership in GL management, and the ability to distill complex financial information into clear and compelling presentations for senior leadership. The Senior Accounting Manager will supervise 3-4 direct reports and collaborate closely with other departments to ensure accuracy of financial information and compliance with accounting standards. The position reports directly to the Assistant Controller.

Responsibilities:
- General Ledger and Close Management: Lead the monthly financial statement close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and overall GL accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Deliver reporting packages to leadership with meaningful analysis and insights.
- Executive Presentation Development: Translate complex financial data into clear, concise, and impactful presentations for executive leadership, including dashboards and financial packages that support strategic decision-making.
- Accounting Policy & Process Improvement: Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies, internal controls, and system enhancements within Dynamics 365 F&O and other financial tools.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, providing leadership, coaching, and professional development opportunities to drive high performance.
- Audit and Compliance Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring successful audit results and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Cash Flow Monitoring: Monitor daily cash flow by reviewing credit receipts and disbursements and prepare reports for record-keeping and leadership review.
- Inventory and Balance Sheet Analysis: Oversee inventory analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and related financial ratios to ensure accuracy and support operational decision-making.
- Loan Covenant Compliance: Prepare and maintain loan covenant compliance reporting.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with AR, AP, Finance, and Operations/Sales departments to ensure overall coordination of financial accounting information.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as needed to support the dynamic needs of the accounting team.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience
- Previous management experience highly preferred
- Experience in public accounting is a plus
- Proficiency in accounting software (Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations preferred)
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- GL and Reporting Expertise: Demonstrated ability to lead a general ledger close and deliver accurate financial reporting packages.
- Presentation Skills: Strong ability to create and deliver executive-level presentations that clearly communicate financial performance and trends.
