Primary Job Functions
Required: Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering or a related field & eight years of experience.
Preferred: Master's Degree. Four years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Quality Control Managment sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Preferred: HVAC Certification
Required: Previous experience in USACE/NAVFAC project experience.
Required: 5 years' experience on federal large projects

Job Summary:
This position works under the Site Manager and will be responsible for implementing QC processes, conducting MEP equipment and installation inspections complying with the industry standards and US Government contract requirements. The position is located at Portsmouth, VA
Primary Job Functions
- Developing and implementing quality systems and procedures - This involves designing and implementing quality processes, standards for inspections and tests, and strategies for evaluating equipment accuracy and test measurements. Will also create instructions and forms for documenting quality standards.
- Conduct Inspections and Tests - Perform various tests on products or processes, including incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products, to identify defects or deviations from standards.
- Analyzing Data and Reporting - Collect and analyze data related to quality, generate reports, and identify areas for improvement.
- Troubleshoot and Problem Solving - They work with other teams to investigate quality issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Ensuring Compliance - QC engineers ensure that products and processes comply with RFPs, contract specs, and drawings, submittals, industry standards, and regulations.
- Training and Documentation - They may train other employees in quality control procedures and maintain documentation related to quality control systems.
- Strong understanding of quality control principles and methodologies - This includes knowledge of quality management systems like ISO 9001 and USACE CQM - 3 phase inspection.
- Submittal Management – Receive, Review & Submit to AHJ material, equipment and other all submittals from subcontractors. RMS knowledge is preferred
- Technical Skills: Required skills include understanding BAS systems, HVAC and electrical systems, test automation experience, ability to interpret technical documents, knowledge and familiarity with inspection tools.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Strong understanding of quality control principles and methodologies - This includes advanced knowledge of construction quality management related to the installation of mechanical, plumbing, electrical and related systems and quality management systems like ISO 9001 and USACE CQM - 3 phase inspection process.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills - Need to be able to analyze data, identify trends, and develop solutions to quality problems.
- Attention to detail - A meticulous approach is crucial for identifying defects and ensuring accuracy.
- Communication and collaboration skills - Need to effectively communicate with other team members and departments.
- Less than 10% – Occasional travel for audits, training, or team leadership meetings
