About The Role

The Inventory Supervisor plays a critical role in managing and overseeing the entire inventory process to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and optimal stock levels. This position is responsible for coordinating inventory control activities, supervising inventory staff, and implementing best practices to minimize discrepancies and losses. The Inventory Supervisor will analyze inventory data to forecast needs, streamline operations, and support procurement decisions. They will also collaborate closely with other departments such as purchasing, warehouse, and sales to maintain seamless inventory flow and meet organizational goals. Ultimately, this role ensures that inventory management supports business continuity and customer satisfaction through precise and timely stock availability.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory management or supervision.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related discipline.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Certification in inventory management or supply chain (e.g., APICS CPIM).
  • Knowledge of lean inventory practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the inventory team to maintain accurate stock records and efficient inventory processes.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and policies to improve accuracy and reduce shrinkage.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to optimize stock replenishment.
  • Analyze inventory data and generate reports to identify trends, forecast demand, and support decision-making.
  • Train and mentor inventory staff on best practices, safety standards, and system usage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure inventory aligns with sales forecasts and production schedules.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory issues, including damaged, obsolete, or missing stock.
