Contract type: Full time
Description

Vivalon is a Marin-based nonprofit that has been serving the community for over 70 years. Recognized 10 times as one of the Best Places to Work in the North Bay, we are proud to foster a supportive, mission-driven workplace culture. Vivalon serves older adults and adults with disabilities by helping them stay active, informed, supported, and nourished—while also meeting their essential transportation needs. Our core services include Rides, Meals, Classes, Care, and Advice.

We are seeking an Individual Giving Manager to join our Development & Marketing team. The purpose of this role is to sustain and increase revenue from individuals who donate to Vivalon and increase the number of donors who are not major gift level supporters. This is a dynamic role that requires proficiency in managing multiple projects, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and a commitment to enhancing Vivalon’s visibility within the community and overall donor engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Appeals Management:

Plan and execute multiple annual appeals—including direct mail, email campaigns, and other solicitations—to increase individual giving and donor retention.

Donor Stewardship & Cultivation

Lead stewardship efforts for individual donors contributing under $5,000, including personalized engagement with approximately 50+ supporters annually. Provide regular updates on the impact of their contributions and implement innovative recognition strategies to enhance donor satisfaction and loyalty.

Donor Pipeline Development

Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer and Senior Donor Relations Officer to identify and cultivate donors with the potential to become major gift supporters.

Donor Acquisition

Develop and implement strategies to generate first-time donations through engaging acquisition mailings and outreach campaigns aimed at expanding Vivalon’s individual donor base.

Community Engagement

Represent Vivalon at community events and donor gatherings to strengthen relationships and increase visibility among individual supporters.

Database Management

Maintain accurate donor records in Salesforce CRM, including timely gift entry, constituent updates, and acknowledgment processes.

Reporting & Analysis

Regularly run and analyze revenue and donor reports, reconcile development and finance revenue data, and evaluate performance metrics related to appeals and individual giving to inform strategy and decision-making.

Requirements

While not every candidate will meet all listed qualifications, we encourage individuals with relevant experience and a strong passion for fundraising and relationship-building to apply. We recognize that valuable skills can be gained through a variety of professional and personal experiences, and we welcome applicants who can bring fresh perspectives to our work.
