Description
The Application Manager is responsible for leading and managing the organization’s business applications portfolio, with a focus on the D365 Finance and Operations ERP, Business Intelligence, Power Platform/Dataverse, and Dealer Portal systems. This role will oversee the application development team—including a Power Platform/Dataverse Developer and Dynamics 365 FnO Developer—ensuring alignment with business strategy, best technical practices, and enterprise governance.
This position reports directly to the Director of IT and will serve as the key liaison between IT, business stakeholders, and external partners/vendors for application-related initiatives.

The Application Manager is responsible for leading and managing the organization’s business applications portfolio, with a focus on the D365 Finance and Operations ERP, Business Intelligence, Power Platform/Dataverse, and Dealer Portal systems. This role will oversee the application development team—including a Power Platform/Dataverse Developer and Dynamics 365 FnO Developer—ensuring alignment with business strategy, best technical practices, and enterprise governance.
This position reports directly to the Director of IT and will serve as the key liaison between IT, business stakeholders, and external partners/vendors for application-related initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of developers
- Provide guidance, performance management, and career development support to application team members
- Foster collaboration across IT, Finance, Operations, and Sales to ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Oversee the administration, support, and evolution of enterprise applications, including Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (FnO), Microsoft Power Platform, Dataverse, Power BI/Fabric/Data Factory, and custom applications.
- Define and enforce application governance, integration standards, and security practices
- Coordinate release management, change control, and quality assurance processes for enterprise applications.
- Lead application-related projects, including:
- ERP upgrade/expansion projects (Dynamics 365 FnO).
- B2B Dealer Portal implementation and ongoing enhancements.
- Enterprise data integration using Microsoft Fabric and Data Factory pipelines.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to business objectives.
- Manage vendor/partner relationships and coordinate with system integrators.
- Maintain project budgets, timelines, and status reporting to IT leadership.
- Collaborate with the Director of IT to define the long-term application strategy and roadmap
- Recommend enhancements, upgrades, and new solutions based on business requirements and technology trends.
- Evaluate new Microsoft capabilities (e.g., Fabric, Copilot, AI Builder) and advise on adoption strategy.
- Serve as the primary contact for application-related escalations and business requests.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions with the application team
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3+ years in an application leadership/management role.
- Strong background with Microsoft technologies, including: Dynamics 365 FnO / ERP systems, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse), Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Data Factory
- Experience leading enterprise-scale projects (ERP implementations, portal development, or BI modernization).
- Solid understanding of data integration, governance, and security best practices.
- Experience with vendor and partner management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience managing B2B dealer portals or customer-facing application platforms.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, application lifecycle management).
- Microsoft certifications such as PL-600 (Solution Architect), DP-500, or ERP-related certifications.
