As an Intern in Product Development Engineering at Press-Seal Corporation, you will actively contribute to the development and refinement of innovative products that support critical infrastructure industries such as underground utilities, automotive, and medical. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Innovation and Product Development:
- Assist in conceptualizing and designing new products that enhance performance and manufacturability.
- Support the development of tools, molds, and fixtures using cutting-edge technology.
- Participate in feasibility studies and collaborate on innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
- Gather and analyze data to improve product quality and reliability
- Prepare detailed technical reports, charts, and presentations that drive informed decision-making
- Work alongside cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency and safety.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing costs, improving quality, and increasing productivity.
- Assist in product testing to ensure compliance with performance standards.
- Document test outcomes and recommend potential improvements.
- Gain hands-on experience with 2D/3D CAD software for product design.
- Learn and apply industry standards such as FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and AP QP (Advanced Product Quality Planning).
- Assist in various operational tasks and special projects as required.
Qualifications:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar 2D/3D design software.
- Coursework in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly rubber/plastic components.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Sophomore or Junior standing is preferred
