Summary: The Process Engineer (PE) Intern will assist in moving the process engineering workflow through the entire process from the initial project conception through detailed engineering and into the system start-up.

Fluid Quip Technologies (Fluid Quip) provides custom technologies and engineering services to the biofuel and biochemical industries worldwide. Fluid Quip has commercialized multiple technologies to enhance the base corn-to-ethanol dry grind process, create new and novel alternative feed products, and supply the growing need for carbohydrate feedstocks into the biochemical market. Green Plains Inc., Ospraie Management, and funds and accounts managed by BlackRock hold a majority interest in Fluid Quip.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Lead Process Engineer to ensure appropriate documentation for project related deliverables
- Work directly with other process engineering team members on projects
- Provide support for ongoing and new R&D activities tied to current and future technologies
- Ensure smooth and timely development of the detailed engineering deliverables
- Develop overall process engineering deliverables and ensure their work is accurate, detailed, and timely
- Identify and analyze pre-construction issues with the design documentation and take timely steps to rectify and communicate identified issues
- Foresee potential system roadblocks and take corrective measures to mitigate issues
- All other duties as assigned
- Rising Junior seeking a Bachelor’s degree in either chemical, refining, ag (corn, soy, etc) processing or biorefining fields
- 3.0 GPA or above preferred
- Knowledge of mass and energy balance, equipment & instrumentation sizing/specification and fluid hydraulics
- System start-up and commissioning, plant safety and plant operations
- Ability to fully read, develop, and understand P&ID’s and detailed construction drawings
- Abilities and skills in:
