Mechanical Designer, Production

Summary

The Production Engineering Department is seeking a Mechanical Designer that will be responsible for drawing, modeling, and designing projects from the Sales, Engineering and R&D Groups. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks and provide support on production-related matters which include but are not limited to applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing for manufacturing processes for both sheet metal, CNC machining, and grinding standards.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Technology/CAD Design Degree (Minimum Requirement)
• Efficient in 2D and 3D modeling (Required)
• Math: Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra and Physics (Required)
• Good computer skills
• Must be a self-starter with effective communication skills
• Desire to learn, and desire to advance the department’s performance output
• Positive Attitude
• Desire to work on a team
• Practical experience in manufacturing a plus: Machining, Welding, Electrical-Mechanical Assembly
  
  

Responsibilities

• Create 2D drawings (AutoCAD) and 3D models (Inventor)
• Work with new designs and modifications to existing designs
• Drawing revision control
• Engineering support to Derrick Manufacturing (entire Shop)
